New resources are available to help identify and respond to psychosocial hazards in the workplace. These resources were developed by participants in Alberta’s OHS Prevention Initiative (a collaboration between employers, workers, government and health and safety professionals to prevent common injuries).
The new resources include two video presentations that promote awareness and provide tools to help eliminate or control psychosocial hazards:
- Mental health in the workplace – introduction and definitions
- Mental health in the workplace – assessment and control of psychosocial hazards
The resources also include three bulletins, two posters, and a postcard that provide more information about psychosocial hazards and actions employers and workers can take to achieve better outcomes:
- Assessment and control of psychosocial hazards in the workplace (bulletin)
- Making the case for psychological health and safety in the workplace (bulletin)
- Psychological health and safety in the workplace – barriers (bulletin)
- Preventing psychosocial hazards in the workplace (postcard)
- Preventing psychosocial hazards in the workplace – barriers (poster)
- Preventing psychosocial hazards in the workplace – hazard assessment (poster)
