UCalgary Social Work Course – The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5)

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) is the primary diagnostic system used in North America. The DSM system is used to identify mental health conditions in individuals, to communicate with clients and other professionals, and to inform treatment. This interactive course supports participants to become familiar with the DSM-5 and apply its framework to work with clients in treatment, while improving communication with other professionals.
