Professional Development

Training for non-profit and charitable agency staff is crucial for enhancing organizational effectiveness and fostering a positive impact in the communities they serve. Well-trained staff are better equipped to navigate the complexities of their roles, whether it involves program management, fundraising, or community engagement.

Ongoing professional development not only boosts staff confidence and morale but also helps build a skilled workforce that can adapt to changing needs and challenges. Furthermore, training promotes best practices, ensuring that organizations operate efficiently and ethically while maximizing their resources. Ultimately, investing in staff training leads to more impactful services, stronger community relationships, and a sustainable future for the organization.

ALIGN -  Annual Conference

Held in January at W.E.M.  Edmonton Alberta

Our Annual Conference (Edmonton, AB January) has become a key event in our calendar, both literally and figuratively. Figuratively, in that it is a part of our identity as an Association. This is particularly so given the theme of our Conference, “Strengthening Today, Building Tomorrow.” What this means is that we are present and future focused, and that we possess both strengths, and a vision for the future, just like our kids and families.

These strengths and vision are essential to our sector, for we are, and will be, surrounded by change. Our strengths and vision will sustain us, and make us leaders in supporting the wellness of our Province’s children and families

Workshops & Training Events

Workshops and training programs play a crucial role in enhancing the professional development of agencies that serve vulnerable children, youth, and families. These initiatives provide staff with the latest knowledge and skills needed to address complex challenges effectively, fostering a deeper understanding of trauma-informed care, cultural competency, and effective communication strategies.

By facilitating interactive learning environments, these workshops promote collaboration among professionals, allowing them to share best practices and innovative approaches tailored to the unique needs of the populations they serve. Ultimately, investing in continuous professional development empowers agencies to deliver more effective support, ensuring that vulnerable individuals receive the compassionate and informed care they deserve

OnlineTraining

ALIGN’s online self-directed training offers significant value by empowering individuals with flexible, accessible learning opportunities tailored to their unique needs. This approach allows participants to engage with essential skills and knowledge at their own pace, promoting deeper understanding and retention.

By leveraging technology, non-profits can reach a broader audience, enhancing workforce development and improving service delivery in communities. Furthermore, self-directed training fosters a culture of lifelong learning, encouraging staff and volunteers to take initiative in their professional growth while ultimately leading to more effective and compassionate care for those they serve.
