International Youth Day Celebration August 12, 2025 (OCYA)

This year’s theme, “Advocacy through Storytelling,” highlights the power of youth voices, creativity, and connection. Youth Day provides a platform for young people to learn about their rights, share ideas, and gain inspiration for their personal and professional growth.

The Office of the Child and Youth Advocate is excited to invite young people to our International Youth Day celebration on Tuesday, August 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at NorQuest College.

International Youth Day’s Keynote Speaker is Piyêsiw Crane! Piyêsiw (they/them) is a Nehiyaw/Dene queer disabled full-spectrum birthworker who is a powerful voice for disability justice, reproductive health, and harm reduction.

This is an event for young people to attend.

Highlights include:

·         A hoop dance performance by Notorious Cree + meet-and-greet!

·         A Youth Market featuring local youth creators

·         Storytelling and poetry stations

·         A 360° photo booth and on-site photography

·         Free snacks and awesome door prizes,

·         And so much more!
