On May 16, 2025, Our Children Our Way proudly hosted ALIGN Community Services of Alberta and Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society for a powerful webinar titled “Parallel Process: Leadership & Practice as Ceremony.” This session explored how leadership and service delivery can be deeply rooted in Indigenous worldviews and ceremonial practice.

The ALIGN Well-Being Toolkit was highlighted as a culturally grounded resource that helps organizations—both Indigenous and non-Indigenous—measure well-being and service impact through principles that honor diverse ways of knowing.

Bent Arrow’s Practice as Ceremony model was shared as an exemplar of parallel process, using traditional teachings and storytelling to guide relationships with families and children. Through the lens of the Sundance ceremony, we place ourselves in the context of those sacred roles and relationships we find in ceremony.
