Renascence Homes Association

Renascence Homes operates two group homes in a rural setting near Gibbons, AB. The specific criteria for the clients is that they are male and FASD. The group homes are based on a parented model of care. One group home is for 8 – 12 year old boys, and the other group home is for 13 – 16 year olds. The program involves a substantial amount of outdoor physical activities; some opportunities for work experience; regular spiritual and cultural participation; collaboration with Sturgeon School Division in providing positive educational experiences; and, a caring, nurturing family atmosphere.

Shiloh

Shiloh is a year-round Christian organization serving children and youth ages 7-17 living in high-risk and vulnerable situations in Edmonton and area. They work exclusively with those from low-income families, group homes and foster care. They run a summer camp in July and August northeast of Edmonton that offers our children and youth a week-long, relational experience away from the city. To ensure their experience and growth does not end there, and also offer a Connections Program during the school year, which includes one-on-one mentoring and large group events.

Skills Society provides support services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and  survivors of acquired brain injury, and their families.

Smoky Lake Family Resources

SMOKY LAKE
Provide opportunity for caregiver education and other programming focusing on child development, asset building, parenting, and strengthening family bonds. Home visitation program provides one on one parenting strategies to promote positive parent-child relationships, increase parenting knowledge and skills, foster healthy pregnancies and child development, help families identify and access formal and informal supports and services, assist in the identification and pursuit of family goals. Working collaboratively with families to build caregiver confidence in their ability to meet their children’s needs. Supports may focus on healthy relationships, attachment, and positive discipline, mentoring, life skills, and child development.

South Region Parents as Teachers Society

Provide parent education through home visits and group programs to support families with the growth and development of their children zero to five years of age. They conduct appropriate follow-up referrals and connect families to community resources to support the ongoing growth and development of children

SPEC Association For Children And Families (The)

SPEC provides supportive, preventive, educational and counselling services for children and families. SPEC is focused on the positive development of kids by providing a continuum of services from early intervention (prevention) to high intervention during crisis. By providing family support services, SPEC continues to focus on a variety of preventive and educational programs that promotes a caring and committed community where kids are resilient and valued.

They provide a variety of educational courses and workshops, as well as one-on-one support services, for families with growing children.

Town of Hinton FCSS
