Alberta Adapted Physical Activity Summit

This multidisciplinary gathering aims to foster community and enhance inclusivity of physical activity and sport across the province, for all Albertans experiencing disability.

A young girl who is a wheelchair user, playing tennis on a tennis court in a public park in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. She has her racket out, ready to hit the tennis ball on the way to her.

The theme for 2026 is “Advocacy, Access, Action: Moving Forward Together”- with the goal to energize action for adapted physical activity across communities in Alberta through connection and collaboration. The AAPA Summit invites researchers, professionals, students, and community members to join us in learning and action.

Originating in 2013, each gathering of the Alberta Adapted Physical Activity community creates opportunities to showcase the innovation and expertise of Alberta’s professionals, researchers, community-based practitioners, leaders, advocates, students and athletes through presentations, workshops, information sharing, panel discussions and applied sessions.
