On November 16, 2011 Alberta Association of Services for Children & Families, Alberta Children & Youth Services & Alberta Centre for the Child Family and Community Research Presented Learning Our Way Symposium. It was an opportunity for staff of both the Ministry and agencies to come together and look at how we learn our way though our current transitions to an Outcomes Based Service Delivery Approach.

Re-Imagining Child Welfare: Issues, Outcomes and Reform – Presented by Dr Bob Lonne
Dr. Bob Lonne is an expert in the areas of direct CP practice, management and program development. He has been involved in over 1000 investigation/ assessments & numerous applications for care and protection of children in high profile cases. This ppt presentation overviews current issues and outcomes and considerations moving forward with reform.

Consolidated Notes Re-Imagining Child Welfare: Issues, Outcomes and Reform – Workshops 
180 people attended the workshops: Personnel from 46 agencies and government (16 people from the Alberta Ministry/CFSA’s and 1from the Northwest Territories), CEO’s/ED’s, senior management, supervisors and front line staff with a range of experience and knowledge of Outcomes Based Service Delivery (OBSD) The comments are a consolidation of the discussions from the tables and hopefully reflect the major points raised by the participants between agencies and ministry.
