Message From Crista Carmichael CSS – FSCD and PDD In-Person Meetings Suspended Sept 2021
Sept 3, 2021
Today the Government of Alberta and the Chief Medical Officer of Health gave direction to employers for staff to continue/resume working from home whenever possible. That message was also sent to members of the Alberta Public Service. I am writing to inform you that effective immediately, in-person appointments at Alberta Support Centres and Disability Services (which resumed on September 1) will be temporarily suspended. Disability Services Direct Operations staff will continue to work on site with all appropriate health precautions to keep staff and residents safe.
As we are in the midst of pivoting to this new direction, we will work toward the implementation of revised policy on in-person meetings. Based on the learnings from the last 18 months, we have adjusted policy wording to relax the requirement for in-person meetings and to affirm the options to virtual and telephone meetings with in-person as another option to meeting formats.
I encourage you to share this information with your networks. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I hope you all have a great holiday weekend.
We are a collection of allies – a unified community of agencies that represents the diverse needs of Alberta’s children and families. We are proud to champion the work of our front line service providers and to support our members. Together, we are stronger.
