Communication from Darcy Fleming (Ph.D.) Statutory Oversight & Reporting Disability Policy/ Disability Services Service Providers November 10, 2021
On Friday November 5, 2021, the Ministry of Community and Social Services launched the Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) and Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) parent and guardian surveys. The surveys, conducted every two years, explore parent and legal guardian satisfaction with the programs and how well the programs are meeting their needs. The survey results are posted publically and support continuous improvement of the Re FSCD and PDD programs.
All families with FSCD agreements and legal guardians of individuals accessing the PDD program will be invited to participate via email or phone (if they have no email). Participants will be given a personalized survey number (user ID #) and offered the choice to complete the survey either by phone or online (computer, smartphone or tablet). The surveys will stay open throughout November. Please encourage parents and guardians to participate in the survey.Â
If families or guardians have questions about how to complete the survey, they may contact ADVANIS at:
·        FSCD: 1-866-447-7532
·        PDD: 1-866-447-7586
If families or guardians have questions about the purpose or nature of the surveys they can direct them to darcy.fleming@gov.ab.ca
Your assistance helping to inform families and guardians of this opportunity is greatly appreciated.Â
