“Walking the Children Home Together”

Please join us for a 1-day summit, “Walking the Children Home Together.” The day is intended to provide space for collaborative discussions between Nations and Agency providers in Alberta to support positive transition with the Federal Act (bill C-92), “An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth, and families.”

The conversation will be led by the wisdom and experience of Chief Cadmiums Delorme and the Honorable Murray Sinclair.

Space is limited, so please register early. Two (2) spots per agency are available, so all who need to attend can.

Early Bird price till October 11 – $300.00 (include full breakfast, lunch and snacks). Beginning October 12 – $375.00 (includes full breakfast, lunch, and snacks)

We have been able to secure a limited number of rooms at the price of $179.00 plus tax (please call the hotel directly and mention ALIGN to get this rate booked, book early to ensure the rate) until October 03, 2022.

Chief Cadmus Delorme

A Cree and Saulteaux, is currently chief of the Cowessess First Nation Saskatchewan. On July 6, 2021, the Cowessess First Nations signed a federal agreement that returns jurisdiction over children in care to the community.

Honourable Murray Sinclair

He was born just north of Selkirk, at what used to be St. Peters Reserve. His Ojibway name Mizanay Gheezhik, means “the One Who Speaks of Pictures in the Sky,” and Justice Sinclair has spent his life creating a new image of justice for Aboriginal people.
