Alberta Counsel update regarding Cabinet Shuffle Details July 8, 2021

Shuffled In

  • Rajan Sawhney – Minister of Transportation
    • Minister Sawhney is the former Minister of Community and Social Services. 
  • Nate Horner – Associate Minister of Rural Economic Development
    •  This associate ministry will fall under the Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Innovation.
  • Muhammad Yaseen – Associate Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism
    • This associate ministry will fall under the Ministry of Labour and Immigration. 
  • Whitney Issik – Associate Minister of Status of Women 
    • She will also serve as Chief Government Whip.
  • Ron Orr – Minister of Culture
    • This is a new position as a result of the split of Culture, Multiculturalism and Status of Women.
  • Mike Ellis – Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions
    • He will take over for Jason Luan who was shuffled into a Ministerial role. 
  • Jason Luan – Minister of Community and Social Services
    • He is the former Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions.
  • Tanya Fir – Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction
    • Fir is the former Minister of Economic Development, Trade, and Tourism (now Jobs, Economy and Innovation).

  • Leela Aheer – Former Minister of Culture, Multiculturalism, and Status of Women
  • Grant Hunter – Former Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction

  • Ric McIver – Minister of Municipal Affairs (previously served as Minister of Transportation)

  • Brad Rutherford – Deputy Government Whip
  • Pam Livingston – Chief of Staff to the Premier
